Version 1.3 - the playtest update!
I recently had the chance to run a full session of For Humankind for a couple friends. It was a ton of fun, and it brought to light some parts of the game that were a little lackluster or detracted from the fast-paced action. This update involves changes based on those findings, with the biggest modifications revolving around health and resource recovery. 3 Health turned out to be pretty low, and health drops from enemies were too rare, meaning that the players had to be really cautious and could really only handle one fight per mission. The starting health has been increased to 4 and the sample enemies skew toward a lower damage/higher health balance. Drops also generate for every enemy defeated, with an even 50/50 split between energy and health. ANSWER units also automatically regain some Health and Energy when they Overcharge, with no need for someone else to spend time trying to revive them.
Aside from that, some Powers have been streamlined and improved a bit to make them more useful and enticing, and there were a handful of small formatting and spelling fixes.
There's also a new character sheet! A single 8.5" x 11" sheet of paper can now be used to print two character sheets, with the goal being better use of space and a more readable form.
Enjoy!
